-Good news Pharmaceutical Giant Pfizer announced this morning that it’s vaccine trial has demonstrated 90% success if preventing COVID. The Covid-19 vaccine being developed by Pfizer Inc. and BioNTech SE prevented more than 90% of infections in a study of tens of thousands of volunteers, the most encouraging scientific advance so far in the battle against the coronavirus. Such good news on the heels of huge surges across the US.

2.Updates on any action items:

-5 bags of groceries available in our food pantry

3. Communication for our AOMA community? Any new issues?

--In our Clinics it was agreed faces shields across the board, and we need to do the same in classrooms with students close to one another. During this time of high virus surge it is also suggested that a higher level of protective masking be used by everyone vs cloth masks. This will better prepare students for what to expect in Clinics should we have to continue such safety measures into the new term. Safety Committee will meet and make recommendations/decisions that will then be communicated to the AOMA community.

-A proposal will also be brought to AOMA President’s Cabinet today to move forward with a document regarding safety understanding and a signed commitment from everyone at AOMA. We have to determine logistics but again as virus surges, we must ensure we are maximizing safety, and everyone understands their individual responsibility.

-Dr. Zachary will talk to Dr. Jing, Dr. Garrison and Ashley and others about VA Clinic plan.

4. Good news, positive experiences in last 24 hours

- We have a new US President, and a new Vice President (a woman and one of color! – historic time in our history). We are still awaiting current President to concede. President Elect Biden appears to have a strong plan for COVID.
