It can feel cliché to say, “A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.” Perhaps more accurately for us, “千里之行，始於足下.”
But, what better way to start caring for ourselves than from the ground up? When people think about self-care, they often envision long bubble baths, facemasks, or catching up on their favorite Netflix shows. All of those things are necessary every once in a while, but they aren’t the only way we can care for ourselves. If you’ve been trying these traditional forms of self-care to no avail, this is the place for you. Maybe you feel lost in this space of caring for yourself and you don’t know where to start, or maybe you haven’t taken care of yourself in a long time.
Well, I’m here to tell you: we aren’t just taking a regular journey together; we’re running a mental marathon. It’s a four year long mental marathon. And in order to be successful in this environment, we must nourish ourselves as well as our studies. Let this be your watering station to stop, take a breath and stretch those legs.
